Following over 40 years of being an investigator and 30 years as a manager he has developed considerable skills and abilities within Essex Police and the Independent Police Complaints Commission. These include:

Significant experience of the Criminal Justice system. He is an experienced witness possessing extensive court room skills.

 

Specialist knowledge of the Police Service and Independent Police Complaints Commission.

 

Specialist knowledge of the Police Misconduct system, Police Reform Act and Article 2 ECHR.

 

Extensive experience of Major Incident Rooms and the use of HOLMES2.

 

Significant experience and specialist knowledge of Police Post Incident  Management Procedures.

 

Experience delivering training.

 

Reviews of major investigations both in the police and IPCC and trained as a reviewer.
